Nicknamed The "Killer" and "The Ferriday Flash", Lewis died Friday/ Oct 29th, 2022, at age 87. One of the very greatest of the 1st generation of Rock N' Rollers, in 1986 he was one of the first 10 inductees into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame, and the last surviving member (YEAH - I know - who'd a thunk?!?) // The album was included in Mojo Magazine's "The 67 Lost Albums You Must Own!" - "An unbelievably seismic document of rock 'n' roll so demonic and primal it can barely keep its stage suit on.... It's up there with James Brown's great live albums." / * - later a Top-5 hit for Roy Orbison {April 1963}]
Co-founder of IABD, David LaFlamme (born 'Gary Posie'), died August 6th, at age 82. Part of the San Fransisco music scene since 1962, he played with Jery Garcia, Janis Joplin and was in an early version of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, before forming IABD in the summer of 1967. LaFlamme on the original of this song: "... We were like caged birds in that attic (...of a Victorian house in Seattle, WA. We had no money, no transportation, the weather was miserable. We were just barely getting by on a very small food allowance provided to us.". He also appeared on the TV shows "Frasier", "Ellen" and "Wings", as a strolling violinist who stands right next to a table in a restaurant, playing loudly or annoyingly.
* - Five singles under other names {Sandra Kay Tucker, Sundray Tucker - her real name}. Sister of Lynda Laurence, of the post-Diana Ross Supremes. // Click on Link above/ left, to view the original single
* - but recorded first by Chuck Jackson in 1962, not released. IT WAS ALSO recorded by Dusty Springfield, released as an English single in the summer of 1964.
